Evolution, as described by Charles Darwin, is both one of the most elegantly simple scientific theories and one of the best supported. There is, of course, a large section of the population that wouldn’t agree, but they do so on the basis of religious or spiritual beliefs rather than evidence, which is their problem, at least in most cases.
There is another view, equally lacking in evidence, that goes far beyond Darwinian evolution. This is that view that evolution is a path to a higher plane of existence and that we will evolve into beings of energy who live on a higher plane, whatever that is.
