Conservative Party Funds Take-overs of Student Unions, PIRGs

According to audio tapes and documents from recent Conservative Party student workshop at the University of Waterloo, the Conservative Party advised and funded Young Conservatives to set up “front organizations” and “shell groups” in order to receive funding from and take over student unions and Public Interest Research Groups on Ontario campuses. The Ryerson Free Press is reporting the story.

The two main presenters at the workshop were Aaron Lee-Wudrick and Ryan O’Connor, both students at UW while I was there. O’Connor received funding from the Conservative Party to support his successful run for the position of VP Education in the UW Federation of Students.
